Cook Center Parking Policy

1.0 Overview

This document contains parking procedures for the Peter C. Cook Center of Davenport University.  These procedures are in place to address local operating needs unique to the local campus and do not apply to any other Davenport University location.  This document exists in addition to, not in place of the Davenport University Parking and Registration Enforcement Policy.  Vehicles operating a the location are subject to the provisions of both policies. 

2.0 Academic Classes and University Business

Degree-seeking students, faculty and staff of Davenport University have priority use of the parking lot at the Peter C. Cook Center when on campus for academic classes or official business.  There may be times when parking needs exceed the number of available parking spaces.  Absent pre-arranged options, anyone arriving on campus when all available parking spaces are occupied will be required to secure off-site parking at their own expense. 

3.0 IPEx Events

When no academic classes are in session, IPEx may utilize available parking spaces in the on-campus parking lot for their events.  The Event Management System may be used to identify whether an academic class is in session on a particular day for planning purposes.  In the event of a conflict, the Director of Public Safety or their designee will make a final determination regarding parking availability.  IPEx events must vacate the parking lot a minimum of one (1) hour prior to the beginning of an academic class.  There may be times when parking needs exceed the number of available parking spaces.  Absent pre-arranged options, any one arriving on campus when all available parking spaces are occupied will be required to secure off-site parking at their own expense. 

4.0 External Groups and Events 

External groups will need to secure parking options off campus during events.  They will not be permitted to use the on-campus lot without prior written approval from the Director of Public Safety or their designee.  This does not include individual meetings involving university personnel for official business.  These meetings fall under the provisions of section 2.0 of this document. 

5.0 Modifications

Davenport University reserves the right to modify this policy at any time, with or without notice.  Revisions will be made at the discretion of the Director of Public Safety.
