HOUSING APPLICATIONS FOR THE 2021-2022 ACADEMIC YEAR ARE OPEN
Housing Requirements
Those wishing to live on campus must be registered for full-time credits (12 undergraduate / 6 graduate) for two semesters.
How to Choose my Roommates
In order to choose your roommates, you must first complete your housing application, with a paid deposit. Once that is complete, you can log back into the system and begin to seach for roommates and create roommate groups! Click the link below to watch a video that walks you through the entire process.
A few other guidelines:
- Roommates are chosen through a Roommate Group
- In order to create a roommate group, everyone you want to live with must have completed their housing applications
- Only ONE person in your group needs to actually create the group, but everyone must accept the group in order for it to be official.
- Once placements begin, you may not be able to make changes to your roommate groups. Please email us at housing@davenport.edu with any roommate requests.
Housing Application FAQs
Read below before you get started with your application!
Q: I need to pay a deposit and application fee! How can I pay that fee?
A: If you need to pay a deposit and application fee, you will be directed to pay at the end of your application. If you do not make a payment, your application will not be considered complete. You will need to make a payment with a credit or debit card.
If you submit your application without a payment in error, please email us. We can expunge your application and you can apply again!
Q: I currently live in housing and I am planning on returning next year. Do I need to pay my deposit again?
A: Nope! Your deposit will roll-over from one year to the next.
Q: How do I know if my payment went through?
A: You will get a receipt to the email address you put in with your credit card information. If you don't get this email, likely one of two things occurred: there was a typo in your email address, or your payment did not go through. Feel free to give us a call if you didn't get this email.
Q: I don't have a credit or debit card. How can I make a payment?
A: Unfortunately, the payment does have to be made on a credit or debit card. Due to the way the deposit refund processing has to work, we recommend NOT getting a prepaid credit card or gift card.
Q: I only want to live in the apartments. Is there a way I can guarantee that?
A: Filling out the application is requesting to live ON CAMPUS overall. There is not a separate application for the apartments. You can preference living in the apartments, but that is not a guarantee. We do take preferences into account when making placements, if available.
Q: I heard returners and transfer students get to choose their spaces
A: That is true to some level. If you apply before the Room Selection Deadline (listed below) and are a returning DU student you are eligible to participate in Room Selection. More details about room selection will be coming in Late February or Early March.
While students do get to choose a room, and we do our best to honor those selections, sometimes changes must be made for various reasons. We will reach out directly if changes need to be made.
Q: What are the requirements for living on campus?
A: It's simple! You must be registered for full time credits BEFORE you are able to move in (or are eligible for room selection). For undergraduate students, this means 12 credits. For graduate students, it's six.
Q: I need some accommodations with housing or dining? Who do I talk to in order to get taken care of?
A: Please work through our Campus Life Coordinator to get started with the accommodations process. We cannot guarantee accommodations are available after June 1st, but we will work our hardest to make sure your needs are met!
Q: I'm not sure that I want to live on campus. Should I apply now or wait?
A: That is up to you, but applications are binding after June 1st (or December 14th for Winter 2019 only applications). That means that if you apply and cancel before June 1st, you will get your housing deposit refunded. If you cancel after June 1st, you will forfeit your housing deposit.
