At Davenport University, we are committed to providing innovative and cost-effective solutions to support student success. To ensure you have the resources you need from day one, we’ve partnered with leading publishers to offer course materials through a digital program called Inclusive Access (IA). We’re proud to offer this program as part of our effort to enhance learning and affordability for all Davenport students.
What is Inclusive Access (IA)?
Inclusive Access is a program that provides instant digital access to your required course materials on the first day of class. The cost is included as a course fee, usually at a lower price than buying or renting textbooks separately.
How do I access my materials?
Your digital course materials are available directly through your course in Blackboard. You’ll have access on the first day of class—just log in and follow any links your instructor provides.
How much does it cost?
Costs vary by course, but Inclusive Access is designed to be more affordable than traditional textbook options. The fee is automatically charged to your student account as part of your tuition and fees.
How do I opt out?
You can opt out by selecting the opt out option for your course in the Panther BookShelf. Confirm your decision before the opt-out deadline (end of the add/drop period)
After opting out, your access to the digital materials will be removed and the course fee will be refunded.
Can I opt back in if I change my mind?
Yes—as long as it’s still within the opt-out period. Just return to the Panther BookShelf and choose to opt back in.
I did not opt-out, but I did not register my access or use the online platform. Will I still be billed?
Yes. All students who are enrolled in a course using Inclusive Access are automatically considered part of the program. To avoid being billed you must opt-out before the add/drop deadline.
I dropped the course. Do I still need to opt-out?
Students who drop the course before the start of the semester will automatically be "opted out" and will not be billed. If a student withdraws from a course with a partial tuition charge, the course fee will not be refunded.
I forgot to opt-out and missed the deadline. Can I get a refund now?
No. Opt-outs for course fee refunds will not be accepted past the deadline of the last day to drop/add classes.
