Davenport Receives International Recognition from the Association for Talent Development (ATD) 

DU was awarded a 2019 ATD Excellence in Practice Award for our Leadership Academy program. Awards are presented to practices that have demonstrated clear and measurable results of achieving organizational goals, meet a demonstrated need, have appropriate design values, and are clearly aligned with other performance improvement initiatives. These practices have long-term, sustained results.

Davenport University has been chosen to receive the ATD’s 2020 BEST Award. This award is for our overall Talent Development strategy.  Everything from onboarding, organizational development, role-specific training, coaching, diversity training, leadership training, and more.  We have been measuring results in our learning events and programs for several years to be able to leverage national and international organization/association benchmarks for comparison. Those measures are critical for selection and recognition of best practice.

The Office of Performance Excellence promotes a culture that empowers employees to grow personally and professionally as they strive to ensure student success. 

  • Identifying and providing learning opportunities linked to key outcomes

  • Fostering partnerships with individuals and teams throughout the university
  • Driving engagement with meaningful, memorable programs and events targeted to staff, faculty, and the entire organization

Our focus is to:

  • Directly link work to the outcomes of our learners (performance)
  • Create learning strategies that will be integrated with university wide employee performance expectations and competencies
  • Support consistency in university expectations
  • Unify learning initiatives for both faculty and staff to ensure consistency and maximization of resources
  • Provide needs assessment, design, delivery, evaluation and consultation services
  • Efficiently implement best practices
  • Ensure consistent, accessible, sustainable and effective curriculum design, delivery methods, and maximization of resources through coordination, collaboration and consultation
  • Collaborate closely with all departments to ensure quality, excellence and optimal outcomes
  • Manage the design and development of e-learning programs, multimedia projects, and learning management systems in support of online, blended, and live learning initiatives
