Membership

ML Awards

Membership in Business Professionals of America (BPA) is available to students at any school interested in developing leadership, citizenship, academic, and technological skills. BPA programs and activities are co-curricular, complementing classroom instruction. BPA programs encourage students’ involvement with local business and in community service.

Each chapter and their members may participate in national membership activities, service events, and academic competitions. The chapter may also conduct activities, events and recognition programs of their own, specific to the local community.

  • Membership activities include networking and affiliations with all divisions of the BPA organization, participate in the BPA Cares Program, the BPA University, and learn about new and exciting local and state fundraising opportunities.
  • Service activities may include the Torch Awards Program, Quality Chapter of Distinction Award, President’s Volunteer Service Award, Scholarships and more.  Chapters are encouraged to seek volunteer opportunities in their communities.
  • Competitions range from individual to team, from objective tests to judged presentations for which students may travel to the State and National Leadership Conferences. Students prepare for and compete in contests in 17 categories, under five Assessment Areas including Finance, Business Administration, Management Information Systems, Digital Communication & Design, and Management, Marketing, & Communication.

Grade levels may vary between schools.  Any middle, junior high or home school may be eligible for starting a chapter and applying for a charter. If you are interested in forming a chapter and receiving a charter, www.michiganbpa.org/how-to-join for more information. For questions about forming a chapter at your school, please be sure to contact Randi Koogler, who is our interim contact person for Michigan BPA Middle Level at rkoogler@davenport.edu.
