The Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund III (HEERF III) is authorized by the American Rescue Plan (ARP), Public Law 117-2, signed into law on March 11, 2021, providing $39.6 billion in support to institutions of higher education to serve students and ensure learning continues during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Davenport University received $5.6M that will be awarded to students as emergency grants.
Awarding of student grants is expected to begin in August 2021 and Davenport plans to provide grants to enrolled students for the spring/summer 2021, fall 2021, and winter 2022 semesters, as long as funds remain. Eligible students will be notified via email.
Authorized use of the awards includes educational expenses including but not limited to tuition, fees, books, supplies, housing, meals, transportation. The funds may also be used for emergency expenses related to the Coronavirus and pandemic.

Davenport also received funds through the Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security (CARES) and Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act (CRRSAA). These funds have been distributed to students.

How will I receive this grant?
Davenport will be issuing refunds the same way other student refunds are processed, using our partner BankMobile Disbursements. Ensure you have updated demographic information and a refund preference selected on pantheronecard.com.
Students will also have the opportunity to apply these funds directly to their student account to reduce their charges.
What if I have an outstanding balance?
Davenport will provide students with the option to apply their award to their account balance. This is selected on the web form.
If you need to make a payment on your account, you may do so online in the Student Payment Center.
Will the HEERF III/ARP grant affect my eligibility for financial aid eligibility?
The Department of Education has determined these funds will not be included in your Federal Student Aid eligibility.
Is this grant taxable?
The IRS has determined these funds are not taxable and are also not considered untaxed income.
Will this grant be reported on my 1098-T?
Amounts that are applied to tuition and fees will be included as payment in box 1. It will not be reported as a scholarship in box 5.
Amounts that are refunded directly to students will not be reported anywhere on the 1098-T.
