Frequently asked questions about New@DU Orientation
If you need to switch your orientation date, please contact your admissions representative or email orientation@davenport.edu. Dates are available on a first-come, first-served basis due to program space limitations and support services availability.
Prior to your orientation date, your Academic Advisor will pre-register you for the classes you will need in your first year at Davenport. Your Advisor will take into account the program you are pursuing, any test scores or transfer/early credits we have on file, and the official high school transcript we currently have on file. If you are a student athlete, we will also strive to accommodate your practice schedule.
We ask that you please do not make any changes to your schedule until you meet with your Academic Advisor. You will have an opportunity to meet 1:1 with an advisor at the end of the orientation day (or anytime after your orientation day) to discuss schedule changes.
Reminder: you will need to request that your final high school transcript be sent to DU once your diploma is awarded.
It is extremely important that you do not miss your orientation day. If you are unable to attend your scheduled orientation day, you must notify your admissions representative or orientation@davenport.edu prior to that date. Please be advised that your scheduled classes will be dropped if we do not receive notice about your absence and/or you do not reschedule and attend a future orientation date.
YES! We invite and encourage parents/guardians to participate in the orientation sessions. In fact, there is a session specifically designed for parents/guardians, focusing on information and resources to help them support you during this exciting transition.

Join us on the date of your designated orientation date for your livestream program. You will receive an email to your PantherMail (DU account), your personal email address, and a parent/guardian email if supplied on your registration form with information on how and when to access your livestream orientation session and materials. Please look for this email about a week before your orientation date.
We want to ensure that you continue to receive support and guidance after orientation as the Fall semester approaches and you transition into college. Here are some resources you may utilize to get answers to your questions or review topics covered at orientation:
- You will receive an orientation booklet that contains valuable information about many of the departments, services, and resources you may want to contact or access before your first semester begins.
- Your admissions representative and academic advisor are your personal guides in your transition to Davenport University. Please feel free to reach out to them for guidance or with any questions and concerns. If they don’t know the answer, they will help you connect with the appropriate department or staff member who does.
