Every DU degree begins here, with core classes from the College of Arts and Sciences. We build your knowledge base in math, humanities, English, social sciences, life sciences and languages as part of your complete program. The College also offers undergraduate and graduate degrees.
Mission Statement
The College of Arts and Sciences offers in-demand, professions-focused programs and collaborates with other Colleges to cultivate sought after soft skills and diverse and inclusive perspectives to prepare students for successful academic, professional, and personal lives.
Statement of Purpose
The College of Arts and Sciences provides students with the foundational knowledge, skills, and degree programs necessary for personal, academic, and professional growth. These skills encompass analytical and critical thinking, communication and collaboration, mathematical and scientific literacy, and professional excellence and integrity. In addition, the College of Arts and Sciences offers a background in the humanities and social and behavioral sciences, fundamental to developing civic and social responsibility, cross-cultural competence and informed global citizenship.
