Make-Up Tests

Make-Up Tests are provided for DU students and faculty at selected campus testing centers. If a student misses a scheduled test in class, the Instructor may allow the student to take or re-take the test with a proctor present. The student must make every effort to avoid missing class-time tests. The make-up testing service is not to be used casually and must be used judiciously by the instructor where the student's circumstances merit it.

For Instructors

Instructor Make-Up Test Requests

Due to the high number of requests for testing appointments for ADA accommodation and Make-Up testing, Course Instructors are asked to do the following:

  • Submit all tests to the testing center at least one week prior to the deadline for student completion using the Instructors Make-Up Test Requests form.
  • Instruct students they must make an appointment with the Testing Center before testing.
  • If the student requires the use of an e-book, instructors must submit a paper copy of the content from the e-book to the testing center when submitting the exam, as no personal electronic devices are allowed in the testing room.

For Students

  • Make-Up and ADA accommodation testing is by appointment. Walk-in appointments will only be accommodated as seat and time availability permits.
  • Check the DU Testing Locations & Hours at your campus in order to identify operating hours for your campus before submitting your appointment request.
