DECA (formerly DEX: Detla Epsilon Chi) provides leadership development and career opportunities to business students like you!

In 1946 the Distributive Education Clubs of America (DECA) was organized to improve educational and career opportunities for students. They are nationally known for integrating academic achievement with vocational skills and helping students develop skills needed for careers in marketing, finance, hospitality and management.  DECA offers workshops, seminars, conferences and competitions.

DECA competitions will put your experience, skills and knowledge to the test. You'll participate in competitive events using interviews, tests, role-play, simulations and written project reports. Business professionals judge the events, evaluating marketing and management skills. Davenport University students consistently perform well in DECA competitions and took home 15 top medals at the annual state conference in 2016, with a 1st, 2nd and 3rd place win in the accounting event.  Although competitions are a large part of DECA, you can also participate through event planning, community service and attending conferences.

In April of 2016, Davenport students earn 1st place in Event Planning at the DECA National competition.
