Blackboard Discussion Boards allow participants to respond to postings from the class facilitator and plus read and comment on other student responses. Accessing the discussion boards requires you to log in to your classroom and then select “Discussion Boards” from the menu bar on the left side of the course. Your facilitator will direct you to the folder/forum that is relevant for you. Once you find the pertinent posting, you simply hit “reply” as you would in an email and you can type or paste in the text box your comments. You may have the flexibility to start a new thread/discussion depending on how your facilitator organizes your class. Discussion Boards can be accessed 7 days a week 24 hours a day.

Blackboard Collaborate - The Ultra Experience

Blackboard Collaborate is a real-time video conferencing tool that lets you add files, share applications, and use a virtual whiteboard to interact. Collaborate Ultra experience opens right in your browser, so you don't have to install any software to join a session. There are two typical methods for joining a Collaborate Ultra experience. First, you may be sent a “guest link” to access the session. Second, you may access the session from within the Blackboard course environment if you are already using that environment for your course.
