With expertise in nursing, Sarah Brooks serves as a full-time nursing faculty for the College of Health Professions at the Midland Campus. In her role, she is engaged in creating and facilitating a student learning environment that is conducive to learning and academic excellence. Sarah Brooks also serves as an alumni ambassador for the Midland Campus.

A nurse for five years, Sarah works primarily as a psychiatric floor nurse in acute, outpatient, and inpatient settings. She has crisis prevention intervention and motivational interviewing training that is essential in this role. As a nurse, Sarah has also filled the role as Community Mental Health OBRA nurse evaluating the appropriateness for patient placement in long-term facilities. Before her transition to an academic position at the University, Sarah was employed at Midland County Educational Service Agency for ten years as a teaching assistant. During this time, she planned and implemented education programs for students on the Autism spectrum. At that point, Sarah also worked as Braille Technician for Midland Public Schools transcribing textbooks and course material into Braille format for visually impaired students in the county.

Sarah is a Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) with a Master\'s Degree in Nursing (MSN) with a specialization in Nurse Education. She teaches nursing courses at the undergraduate level in didactic, laboratory, and clinical settings. She also currently teaches pharmacology, nutrition, mental health, health assessment, and fundamental courses. Sarah is an active member of Davenport University\'s Alumni Council and serves as an Alumni Ambassador engaging with current and graduated students promoting involvement in the community. She also is an active member of the American Nurses Association supporting safe patient care and volunteers at Mid-Michigan Medical Center Hospice providing respite care services.
