With an extensive background in health information technology and management and health care administration, Professor Tober serves as the Associate Department Chair for Health Information Management and Health Information Technology in the College of Health Professions.

Professor Tobe has experience in many health care field roles to include Health Information Management (HIM) manager, external Peer Reviewer, and Human Resources Analyst. Her experience includes long-term acute care hospitals, veteran’s hospitals and acute care hospitals. Professor Tober has been involved in all aspects of a health information management department including physician credentialing as well as serving as a peer review in veteran’s hospitals across the country. Currently, she is a mentor in health information management at the national level as a member of the American Health Information Management Association’s (AHIMA). Professor Tober has served as an elected member on the Mid-Michigan Health Information Management’s (MMHIMA) Nominating Committee.

Professor Tober is a Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) through AHIMA. She teaches courses in the Health Information Technology (HIT) and Health Information Management (HIM) programs which are accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Health Informatics and Information Management (CAHIIM). Professor Tober is also a certified ICD-10 trainer through AHIMA.
