With experience in healthcare management and patient care, Kim Corsi, Associate Professor, serves as the Campus Associate Department Chair for the Livonia and Warren campuses. In this role she is the Academic Liaison for the campus and the other Colleges of the University. She also serves as an Associate Department Chair for Allied Health and is the Program Director for both the Health Services Administration and Medical Case Management programs.

As a healthcare professional, Kim has experience in patient care, management, program development, reimbursement, and quality programs and initiatives. She was the Director of a Respiratory Care Department for a major healthcare organization in SE Michigan for 10 years and was involved in streamlining multiple department operations, the development and implementation of a Sleep Disorder Center, and Pulmonary Rehabilitation Program. Kim has always been passionate about education starting with patient education programs, student and hospital staff education and health administration courses with Davenport University. She is a member of the Michael Berry Career Center Health Advisory Board, Exit Exam Committee Member for the Associate of University Programs in Health Administration, past member of the Board of Directors for Michigan Health Academy High School, involved in Regional HOSA Competitions, and other community programs such as child passenger safety events, mock medical disaster and casualty evacuation drills for the VA Department of Defense and National Department of Medical Services. Kim has been acknowledged by The American College of Physician Executives for Recognition of Innovation, Instructor Twenty Year Recognition by American Heart Association for Emergency Cardiovascular Care, and awarded Student Organization Advisor of the Year.

Professor Corsi is a licensed Respiratory Care Practitioner (LCRP) in the State of Michigan, Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) through the National Board for Respiratory Care, a Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) through American Health Information Management Association, and a Certified Basic Life Support (BLS) Instructor/Provider through the American Heart Association.

At the 2014 Annual Meeting of the Association of University Programs in Health Administration (AUPHA), Professor Corsi presented on the topic of “Authentic Assessment: Creating a Program Exit Exam”. During the 2015 Annual AUPHA meeting she participated in a Poster Board Presentation providing the results of “Authentic Assessment to Achieve “PODO” (Employee Prepared on Day One).
