With an extensive background in neurosurgical, perioperative, and leadership management in nursing, Amy Stahley serves as the Associate Dean for Nursing in the College of Health Professions. She provides leadership to ensure the achievement of accreditation and the University’s strategic goals.

Professor Stahley has a multitude of experience over the last 32 years within various nursing roles which have included circulating nurse, neurosurgical physician extender, nurse clinician, and nurse educator. Her experience includes acute care hospital systems, and private physician practices. Professor Stahley is a member of American Association of College of Nursing (AACN (AANN), Association of periOperative Registered Nurses (AORN), National League for Nursing (NLN), Sigma Theta Tau, Michigan Organization of Nursing Executives (MONE) and Michigan Council of Nursing Education Administrators (MCNEA).

Professor Stahley is a Nurse Educator, and Registered Nurse with a perioperative specialty. She holds a certificate as a Certified Neuroscience Registered Nurse (CNRN) through American Association of Neuroscience Nurses. She teaches courses in the Nursing programs which are accredited by Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) and Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN).

Professor Stahley maintains high visibility and actively networks with hospital systems to implement perioperative clinical and externships within Davenport University’s nursing curriculum to promote assist with the shortage of prepared perioperative nurses. Her current research interest include the lived experience of baccalaureate nursing students in a perioperative clinical rotation.
