Application Process
Before beginning the application process, we recommend you review the Davenport University application, the DU Nursing paper application (BSN completion & concurrent students only) and/or the NursingCAS application information as well as talk with an Admissions Representative to ensure you are ready to apply.
Applicants are responsible for ensuring that all required documents are received prior to the published deadline date for candidate consideration. All application materials become the sole property of the Davenport University - Mable Engle Nursing Program.
General Information for the Nursing CAS Application
The NursingCAS application will require you to electronically fill out the application, submit an essay, provide the email addresses of your two recommenders, and enter other demographic information. Incomplete applications will not be considered.
Before Beginning Your Application, You May Find It Helpful To:

Identify the names to provide your Letters of Reference. Also secure accurate email addresses for both references who will complete and return the NursingCAS reference form electronically to NURS CAS.

Have a credit/debit card number ready for payment of the NursingCAS application fee when you’re ready to submit your application.

Additional program NOTES:
- Only complete applications will be reviewed by the Nursing Admissions Committee. Decisions made by the Committee are final.
- Students will be asked to complete a criminal background check, after acceptance in the program. This will take place in your first semester. The policies, procedures and form related to the criminal background check are displayed in the COHP Appendix A-4.

Approximately 500 words in length and demonstrate critical thinking, describe any previous experiences or examples to help support your statement. It should address "What will make me successful in Davenport's Nursing Program.”

TEAS scores will upload from ATI to the DU Registrar upon completion of the exam at a DU testing site. Students that test elsewhere will send official transcripts to the DU Registrar via ATI.

Mable Engle Nursing Programs
The Mable Engle Nursing Programs (Nursing Program) comprises one of the four divisions within the College of Health Professions. The Nursing Programs include MSN, BSN-Completion, Bachelor of Science in Nursing - Pre-licensure (BSN-PL) and Diploma in Practical Nursing (PN). There are currently four locations throughout Michigan for in-seat instruction, as well as online, offering the Nursing curriculum. The program is offered in Grand Rapids, Warren, Lansing and Midland. The composition of the nursing student body at each location reflects its surrounding community in terms of race and ethnicity.
